When should I consider euthanasia for my cat?

It might never feel like the right time to say goodbye. It’s a decision we all hope we never have to make. However, when the time comes our team will be here to guide you through the process. To help you with this difficult decision, some factors we discuss with our clients are:

  • Whether or not your cat’s medication or treatments can continue to manage their pain.
  • If your cat can continue to enjoy their lives, eat or relieve themselves on their own without suffering or medical intervention.

Will my cat feel any pain when euthanized?

The procedure is generally painless and stress-free. Our team will ensure your kitty is calm and a sedative may be provided beforehand so they are as comfortable as possible. The euthanasia medication is quick as the right dose is injected, allowing them to peacefully make the transition.

Can I stay with my cat during the procedure?

It is completely up to you whether or not you want to be with your pet during this difficult time. Pet owners have the choice of staying in the room during the process or can say their goodbyes in a private room before or after the procedure.
